5 Questions to Ask Yourself When You’re Ready to Truly Live

Whenever I reach a place in my life where I’m not happy, I sit down and ask myself some questions.

They are the same questions I asked myself on my deathbed in 2004, after doctors announced they thought I had about “seven days to live.” And they are the same questions whose answers led to a deep awakening in me, and ultimately the miraculous healing of my life, around who I really wanted to be, and the kind of life my soul really wanted to live here.

These questions are powerful, but the true power in them lies in the answers they help lead me too. For the answers reveal what type of life really makes me feel most alive, where in my life i’ve been disconnecting from my joy, and what I’d really like to be doing with my time, energy, and focus.

The answers to these questions are life-saving, literally, and have provided me time and time again with a clear picture on where my joy is, and what ingredients I need to add to my life to make it taste more delicious, when I’ve seemed to get off track or out of alignment with it.

I’ve said in the past that “I think everyone should nearly die, because it’s such a great wake-up call to really live.” But the truth is, you don’t need to nearly die to wake-up. You can live and awaken. And these questions greatly help you do so.

So, I’d like to share them with you, in hopes that the answers you come to help you live more deliciously…

Imagine this is your last day on Earth and the next breath you take in will be your last…

1. What do you wish you had done more of?

2. Who do you wish you had spent more time with?

3. What do you wish you hadn’t done or didn’t do?

4. What do you feel you wasted your time doing that you now wish you didn’t do?

5. Is there anything you wished you would have said to the people in your life, but didn’t? If so, what?

Now look at your answers and take them in. Now that you’re not really dying, how do you want to move forward with your life with this new information?

You’ve got a second chance at life. Live it on your terms, and live it deliciously.

❤, Jerome
